It was a pleasure having Dr. George Guthrie from Regent College join us for a lecture on Philippians 2:6-11. Approximately 120 people from 22 local churches attended the event, enjoying some delicious barbecue followed by the stimulating presentation.
Dr. Guthrie unpacked the narrative poem from Philippians 2:6-11. He gave us some context on the Church in Philippi, elucidated the meaning of Christ's kenosis by going back to the original Greek, and highlighted Old Testament parallels to the passage. Ultimately, Dr. Guthrie pointed us back to the supremacy and majesty of Christ in all things, encouraging our hearts.
